In this, the pilot episode, Harvey takes the case of Dr. Benton Quest as he fights his longtime traveling companion Roger "Race" Bannon for custody of their boys Johnny Quest and Hadij. With the honorable prehistoric Hiram Mightor presiding as judge, and coughing up squirrels, Harvey goes up against rival lawyer Vulturo.

After a few solar rays are fired in the courtroom, the trial makes progress and it seems as though Harvey's client, Dr. Quest, is not fit to care for the children. Despite Harvey's attempts, Dr. Quest seems as though he is always in his lab doing important experiments while his boys are off fighting Lizard Men. Yet, midway through the trial, Harvey notices something strange and ends up revealing that the defendant, Race Bannon, is actually a robot programmed by the Quest's long time arch nemesis Dr. Zin!

After the case is dismissed, Dr. Quest remembers that Race Bannon was actually on vacation the whole time. So he calls him up on the video phone where we see him having a grand time playing volleyball at Club Med with a group of Speedo clad men.
